The Christmas holidays can be a really useful point to pause, identify gaps and consolidate key chemistry before mock exams begin.

This small-group course is designed for GCSE Chemistry students who want structured revision, guided exam practice and the chance to ask questions in a supportive setting.

What the course will focus on

Students will work on:

• key GCSE Chemistry content
• common areas of misunderstanding
• exam-question technique
• calculation and problem-solving skills
• interpreting command words
• applying knowledge to unfamiliar contexts
• improving the clarity and precision of written answers
• identifying personal areas for further revision

The course is designed as revision rather than first-time teaching, so students should already have encountered most of the GCSE Chemistry content at school.

Why such a small group?

Places are limited to five students so that the sessions remain genuinely interactive.Students will be able to ask questions, receive individual feedback and get help with the specific areas they find difficult, while still benefiting from the discussion and shared problem-solving of a small group.

This course provides four structured 3-hour revision sessions, combining content review with extensive exam-question practice.

• recognising where marks are gained and lost
• identifying remaining gaps before mock exams

The sessions are intended as mock preparation and revision, rather than first-time teaching of the A-level course.

Small-group teaching

The course is limited to five students.This allows the sessions to remain focused and interactive, with opportunities for individual questioning, feedback and clarification while still retaining the advantages of learning alongside other students.
