About Me
Hello and welcome
If there's one thing I'd like you to know about me, it's this:
I don't believe in teaching to the test. I believe in helping people become learners.
Exams are important, and I want every student to achieve the best grade they possibly can. But grades are a by-product of understanding. When students develop confidence, curiosity and the ability to think for themselves, exam success naturally follows.
That philosophy has guided me throughout my career and continues to shape everything I do.
Over the years I've taught mathematics and science to students of all ages and abilities in schools, through apprenticeships, and now through private tuition. I founded Dr Nyari Maths & Science with a simple aim: to make high-quality teaching and learning resources available to anyone who wants to learn.
Learning has never been just my profession—it's one of my greatest passions.
I'm a lifelong student myself. At the moment I'm working towards conversational French, I've recently discovered a love of amateur dramatics, and there's usually another book on my bedside table or another subject I'd like to explore. I firmly believe that the best teachers never stop learning, because every new experience helps us become better at helping others learn.
Before focusing full-time on education, I spent many rewarding years as a cadet instructor. Working with young people taught me that confidence is often the key to success. Given patience, encouragement and the right guidance, people are capable of far more than they realise. That's a lesson I've carried into every classroom and every tutoring session.
I'm also someone who enjoys creating as much as teaching.
Some people unwind by watching television. I often find myself designing another worksheet, filming a new lesson, writing a revision guide or improving a course because I've thought of a clearer way to explain something. My family would probably tell you I'm incapable of leaving a project completely finished—there's always another improvement to make!
That passion for creating has grown into an ever-expanding library of resources. Alongside one-to-one tuition and courses, you'll find revision guides, worksheets, practice papers, revision timetables, video lessons and online courses throughout this website. My goal is to provide resources that genuinely help students, parents and teachers alike—whether that's explaining a difficult topic, saving hours of preparation or making revision feel a little less overwhelming.
Everything I create is built around one simple question:
"Does this help someone understand?"
If the answer is yes, then I've done my job.

When I'm not teaching or creating resources, you'll usually find me practising my French, rehearsing with my local amateur dramatic group, walking my dog, reading, or planning my next project. I don't think learning ever really stops—and I wouldn't want it to.
